Responsibilities
Procurement Planning
- Collaborate with project and engineering teams to understand material requirements based on specific work packages.
- Develop and maintain a detailed procurement plan, aligning material purchases with project schedules and milestones.
Sourcing and Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers who meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements, ensuring adherence to company standards and project specifications.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating favorable terms and managing contracts to ensure compliance with scope and project timelines.
- Conduct periodic supplier evaluations to ensure continued compliance with quality standards and address any performance issues.
- Coordinate with Regional Development staff to ensure maximum benefit for Indigenous groups and other impacted communities.
Purchase Order Management
- Prepare and issue purchase orders based on approved work packages, coordinating with finance for budgetary alignment and approvals.
- Monitor order status, expedite orders when necessary, and manage any issues related to delivery delays or discrepancies.
- Work with logistics to coordinate transportation, storage, and handling of materials on-site, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier agreements.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations within the mining and construction industries.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement status, budget tracking, and supplier performance to inform project management and stakeholders.
- Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
- Compensation is based on actual hours worked.
- Office Based; 8-hour days, 5 days per week.

- Potential for 10-hour days during brief periods of high workload.
Qualifications/Experience/Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement within construction, mining, or heavy industry projects.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor negotiation, and inventory management within a construction environment.
- Proficient in procurement software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within Procurement enterprise systems an asset (SAP, SmartPlant, or similar).
- Timely delivery of materials aligned with project schedules and work package requirements.

- Supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery rates and quality compliance.
- Inventory accuracy and minimized material shortages or delays.
