Job Summary: Manage Purchasing and Production Planning to ensure availability of raw materials into the assembly of finished goods for sale and timely delivery to customers. Responsible for the approval and control of all Procurement functions which includes the committing of company funds for materials, equipment, supplies, and services used in the development and production of the company's products. Responsible for the selection of reliable sources of supply delivering a high-quality product at a competitive price while managing supplier relationships and inventory levels. Responsible for negotiations, supplier relations, and supplier performance while working cross-functionally with partners across the organization including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Field Services and support functions.

Requirements

Essential Functions: Plan material requirements to meet Master Production Schedule (MPS) and customer order requirements; Develop and implement cost reduction/optimization and continuous improvement programs with suppliers; Manage inventory levels for assigned products; Source new suppliers and perform supplier audits; Solicit quotes and perform price analysis, negotiate pricing and T&C's; Establish and monitor supplier schedules; Input purchasing data ensuring system accuracy; Address discrepant material issues and ensure processing of reworks in a timely manner; Develop and maintain master schedule ensuring the availability of finished goods for sale, components and subassemblies for Field Service and Manufacturing. Create and monitor manufacturing schedules with input from monthly forecast meetings and direction from senior management. Utilize and update Material Resource Planning (MRP) planning system to drive demand and control inventory levels; Hire, work with, train, assign and supervise the work of subordinates when/where applicable. Provide cross-training to allow adjustment of labor forces to meet changing requirements. Ensure accuracy in Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) SYSPRO. Provide coaching and assistance to subordinates and conduct performance appraisals in accordance with established policies when/where applicable; Attend and participate in meetings as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for supervising 0-2 people.

Success Factors: Ability to work independently with little direction. Dependable. Able to prioritize multiple tasks from multiple sources. Highly organized. Willing to take on a variety of tasks. Currently a one-person department.

Minimum Qualifications / Education: Equivalent to a complete 4-year college or university education; 7 to 10 years of experience. 5 years ERP/MRP experience. Syspro a plus but not required.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Ability to learn new computer programs quickly.

Work Environment: Office. May go into warehouse on occasion.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to meet National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) Standards.
