Produce Director

We are seeking an experienced Produce Director to join our team. As the Produce Director, you will be responsible for overseeing Hansen's IGA Market Produce departments.

Responsibilities

Management of People
Professionally represents the company to subordinates, peers, and superiors.
Serves as an excellent Teacher, Trainer and Coach.
Assist store management when hiring produce department managers
Has a high proficiency for problem resolution, maintains a high energy level and creates a high level of positive morale, has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Customers and Community: Works with Department Manager's to professionally represent the company to customers, the community, and vendors.

Management of Product
Ensure stores are providing 100% best quality of product every day.
Ensure all Departments follow company policies and standards for all operational areas including Labor - ABS, Shrink - STS, Customer Service Excellence, safety, and sanitation.
Handle all produce department item selection, sets in stores and vendor selection. This position will work with product sets and planograms in stores to make sure that the correct products are in stores.
Analyze effectiveness of the ad item movements, review data on prebook orders, ensure stores are ordering the correct amount of inventory to ensure we are meeting customer demand while maintaining the freshest produce.
Provides excellent communication to their supervisor on all areas of a department operation, potential problems that may come up and action plans to maximize profit and service.

Materials Management: responsible for ensuring store and product presentation, product safety, refrigeration, warehouse, and inventory/invoices are managed per company policy and to maximum efficiency.

Management of Profit
Merchandising and Sales: ensure Produce department follows company standards for merchandising, sales, and seasonal advertising and marketing plans, and provide feedback and direction to corporate teams regarding store performance & best practices. Preform weekly advertising planning that drive produce department sales while maintaining profitability
Budget Forecasting: responsible for ensuring Produce department follows standards and use technology and data to manage store labor and expenses. Responsible for monitoring the state of their local marketplace.
Labor: responsible for ensuring department follows ABS standards related to labor cost, plan, utilization, and performance.
Product and Asset Management: ensure department follows audits and controls of department operational standards and provides recommendations for continuous improvement for store design to corporate construction team.
Expense Management: ensure the department follows standards related to proper use of supplies and proper control of expenses.
Security and Safety: ensure the department follows company standards related to people and food safety, emergencies, and store security.
Any other duties or tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements
Demonstrated passion for Customer Service with the ability to train and motivate others to deliver Customer Service Excellence.
Proven track record of exceeding expectations as it relates to the responsibilities of successfully running a produce department and/or other perishable departments.
Demonstrate and proven track record in their ability to build sales, achieve economic and financial goals including profit margin and labor costs.
Excellent business skills including mathematical proficiency, computer skills, financial analysis skills, writing skills, ability to develop and execute business plans.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record to motivate, inspire and lead teams to exceed standards and expectations.
Ability to use technical and financial information to identify and solve problems.
Highly developed industry knowledge and food merchandising skills.
Ability to see the big picture as well as focus on day-to-day critical details.
Minimum 5 years of progressive supermarket store management experience.
Ability and willingness to work a varied and flexible schedule including holidays, evenings, weekends, etc.
Willingness to live and relocate, if necessary, within the trade area
