We are experiencing continuous growth and have an immediate opening for the Engineer, Product Development position. This position is a hybrid position, working in our office located in Richmond BC three days per week. The position will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Development. The Engineer, Product Development will have key responsibility for research, design, development and, ultimately, bringing industry-leading products to market.

We are experiencing continuous growth and have an immediate opening for the Engineer, Product Development position. This position is a hybrid position, working in our office located in Richmond BC three days per week. The position will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Development. The Engineer, Product Development will have key responsibility for research, design, development and, ultimately, bringing industry-leading products to market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design of new products and continual improvement and innovation of existing products
- Apply advanced understanding of structural and mechanical engineering principles to optimize product design within cost, quality, and safety parameters
- Develop and execute test protocols, analyzing results to drive product improvement
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation and manuals, ensuring compliance with standards
- Create and implement improvements to project plans, procedures and specifications
- Source factories and set up production of our products and raw materials in various countries, including all aspects of quality control
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including building codes and environmental standards
- Drive product and process improvement efforts, exploring cost-effective materials and design simplifications
- Provide review, feedback and mentorship for junior engineers
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in development of consumer products and project management.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred
- Experience with building products and home improvement is an asset
- Experience working with wood and metal including power tools is an asset
- Experience with building codes is an asset
- Highly proficient in SolidWorks and/or CAD engineering software
- Experienced with the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude
- Willing and able to travel internationally as required
