As a Product Economic Analyst on the Product and Market Research team, you will work with a team of dedicated research professionals committed to expanding the knowledge base and solving payment related issues for our organization, our members and stakeholders. This will bring them ongoing and untapped value, and help foster our position as a trusted forward-looking partner, an essential component to the Canadian payment ecosystem.
Central to the team's vision is a mandate to leverage our institutional muscle to collaborate on / conduct / deliver user-friendly and Canada-specific applied research (including payment-related data and market insights), consistent with and in support of our organizational objectives and priorities.

| A day in the life
Your responsibilities as a Product Economic Analyst will include but are not limited to:
Research and Analysis:
- Support research and data-driven projects that advance the company's strategic objectives and provide value add to Payments Canada's member financial institutions;
- Remaining current on developments in the economics of payments and industry literature, and highlight issues of relevance to Payments Canada.
- Provide timely responses to data and analysis requests to support decision-making and organizational goals.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on multi-disciplinary projects that involve functioning in a matrix environment.
- Supporting the preparation of internal and external presentations of research findings and analysis.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective project delivery.
Research Contributions and Mentorship and Support:
- Contribute to the body of Research deliverables demonstrating thought leadership on pertinent topics of interest.
- Support in providing the necessary research materials and guidance to co-op students, committees, task forces, and working groups.
| What you need to be successful
- Masters' degree in economics, management analytics, mathematics, statistics, data science, physics or a related quantitative field, or a combination of three (3) years of related work experience and an undergraduate degree in the same fields.
- Experience conducting quantitative, economic, or financial markets research and/or policy analysis.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

- Experience in the payments or financial industry is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
| Salary range
- Based on qualifications and experience: $78,031 to $97,539.
