ROLE SUMMARY:
Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is undergoing a payments modernization initiative and requires an experienced payments expert for a maternity leave term who will own one or more of the payment products - electronic funds transfers and real-time payments or ancillary products/services as required.

The payments product manager will develop a vision and roadmap for the product based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research and act as the voice of the client to provide customer value. They will work closely with our technology partners and other vendors to deliver fixes, enhancements, and new features. The product owner will be a key contributor to support overall PPJV strategy to build a secure, resilient, and functional payments platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and communicate payments product(s) strategy to key stakeholders.
  • Work the product roadmap for electronic funds transfers and real-time payments and provide release scope and prioritization.
  • Define product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, ensuring clear and effective communication to technical teams.
  • Manage P&L for the respective product, working in collaboration with strategy and finance teams for business case development, funding requests, and pricing strategies.
  • Manage various vendor relationships.
  • Work with compliance, fraud, legal, etc. to ensure alignment to various corporate standards and policies.
  • Drive action throughout the organization to continuously improve product and marketability.


KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Post secondary education in related field. (e.g. business administration, computer science, engineering)
  • Related Master's degree (e.g. MBA) an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years' product development and product management experience.
  • Experience in electronic funds transfers and payments technologies.
  • Experience with Payments Canada rules and regulations, standards and systems.
  • Experience in financial services and technology industries.
  • Understanding of Credit Union ecosystem.
  • Experience in customer service delivery and strategic relationship management.
  • Superb organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal)
