POSITION SUMMARY:

This Product Manager role for M&C offers an exciting opportunity to impact our business significantly. We are looking for a creative individual to drive growth for our controllers, sensors, and monitoring solutions. As the company expert, you will interface with sales, technical, marketing and leadership teams to participate as a team member to create, plan, execute, and manage market strategies. You will develop a deep understanding of our offerings, competition, and customer needs to increase market share in North America. We need a technical expert to focus on profitable growth strategies, collaborating with our headquarters in Germany to drive innovations for the North American market. This role supports Sales & Marketing efforts to improve awareness and market share by becoming the resident expert.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop thorough knowledge of ProMinent's control and monitoring portfolio, how they work together with other ProMinent products and how they can be implemented to overcome a variety of customers' application challenges.
  • Responsible for the product strategic and technical marketing plans.
  • Portfolio responsibility that includes its lifecycle, pricing, value creation, updates, forecasting, in-use knowledge, promotion and technical support.
  • Analyze market trends, customer insight, and policies' impacts to define business opportunities and recommend strategy changes when necessary.
  • Understand competitive offerings (features, advantages, benefits and differences), and make recommendations to better position our portfolio.
  • Work with Global and Local Technical and R&D groups to understand user requirements for developing innovations based on market drivers.
  • Brainstorm and work with Marketing Team to develop and deliver marketing initiatives that include campaigns, lead nurturing programs, major messaging themes, product branding, marketing content, ads, and trade shows.
  • Own and drive the product launch process for the release of new products into the market place within the control and monitoring portfolio.
  • Meet with customers and channel partners to ensure a thorough understanding of their use scenarios, personas, challenges and needs.
  • Develop the sales tools that support the selling process.
  • Customer site visits to promote sales through technical advice, trials, product development, laboratory results interpretation and information gathering.
  • Develops and delivers sales training to internal and external customers.
  • Attend specialized conferences, exhibitions, professional events as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or Related Field.
  • 5-7 years of marketing, product management, segment marketing, engineering, or related technical role with the Measurement and Controls.
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to grasp technical aspects relative to products and programs within the controls and monitoring portfolio.
  • Relevant electronics or electrical product experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, lead and take ownership - strong interpersonal & communication skills: capable of effectively communicating, verbally and in writing, to global counterparts and members in other functional teams.
  • Project management and leadership skills, ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple priorities at one time
  • Ability to develop professional business relationships and communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to make effective presentations, to different levels within an organization
  • Action-oriented and proactive approach
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to think strategically and to translate into tactical actions
  • Possess strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to create, execute and adapt effective marketing plans
  • Can set achievable goals and establish metrics to measure performance
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, and lead project teams
  • Willingness to get out into the market for beneficial site visits
  • Occasional travel required - up to 10%
  • Familiarity with controls, PLCs, electronic devices, etc.
  • Industrial background a plus
  • Pragmatic Marketing Training a plus
