Product Manager, Horizon Creation Platform: NPCs

Meta Horizon brings people together around shared activities. It's a collection of fun and rewarding games and experiences ("Worlds") plus the platform and tools to create them. Our titles are social first - offering shared activities to help people build new friendships, hang out together, and play together. Horizon also provides a set of services that enhance these experiences (identity, inventory, travel, multiplayer coordination, media sharing, etc), providing consistency, continuity, and co-presence for the metaverse on Meta Quest headsets and smart phones. As a Product Manager for the Horizon Creation Platform focused on Non-player Character (NPC) capabilities, you will lead a team of engineers and designers to build the capabilities, features, and workflows required for tens of thousands of creators to build the hangout spaces and 3D games that make up the metaverse. What tools do creators need to establish NPCs that perform typical game tasks like running virtual shops, and handing out quests? How can creators build effective NPC helpers for collaborative play and enemies for competitive play? How can we support GenAI LLM-based conversations with NPCs, and even more impressive capabilities like scene understanding and LLM-driven facial expressions, body animations, locomotion, and task completion? To invent and prioritize the best new features, you'll partner closely with product and game designers, technical artists, data scientists, AI researchers, game studios, community managers, and solo creators in our Meta Horizon Creators Program. In a typical month you will roll out new features, set or adjust product vision, goals, and milestone plans, work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and features, and align staffing with the most important problems to be solved (design, data science, technical art, legal, etc).

Product Manager, Horizon Creation Platform: NPCs Responsibilities

• Lead the ideation, roadmap, technical development, and launch of innovative creation tools and features for the metaverse.
• Drive product development across multiple teams of engineers, designers, and product specialists.
• Synthesize market analysis, user research, and behavioral data into product requirements that lead to more successful products.
• Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and resourceful solutions are the norm.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years product management or related industry experience
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Product Manager, Technical Product Manager, Data Scientist, Game Designer, Producer, or Engineer working on GenAI features, games, or 3D social applications.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field
• Experience driving two or more software releases and learning from the release metrics
• Experienced thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments with rapidly changing priorities
• Experience creating and implementing multi-year strategies for products, tools, or platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience defining vision and strategy for a product
• Programming or data analytics experience

$171,000/year to $238,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
