PURPOSE OF POSITION:

As a Product Manager, you will assist in managing assigned products' lifecycle, from concept through development and launch. You will possess a unique blend of business and technical understanding, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, engineering, and customer support. You will help ensure that our products meet both market demands and customer needs.
  • Manage Product Lines: Oversee assigned product lines from strategic planning to execution, ensuring alignment with business goals, market demands, and product vision throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Capture Customer Requirements: Proactively gather and document customer needs, translating them into clear product specifications to guide development teams and enhance product features.
  • Competitive Analysis & Benchmarking: Conduct thorough competitive product analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities, developing benchmarks that position our products favorably in the market.
  • Product Launch & Rollout: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (marketing, engineering, sales, etc.) to develop and execute a comprehensive product launch plan, ensuring timely and successful rollouts.
  • Product Champion & Sales Enablement: Act as the advocate for the product within the company, providing the sales team with training, product familiarization, and support to ensure they effectively convey their value to customers.
  • Develop Marketing & Sales Tools: Create and deliver compelling product marketing materials and sales enablement tools that clearly communicate our product's unique value proposition, enabling teams to effectively engage with potential customers.
  • Pricing Strategy & Alignment: Collaborate with the sales team to establish pricing strategies for products and options, ensuring competitive positioning while maintaining profitability.
  • Commercial Problem Solving: Work closely with sales channels to address commercial challenges, providing solutions that support the achievement of financial targets, including orders, revenue, and margins.
  • Business Case Development: Lead the creation of business cases and financial forecasts for new product introductions (NPI), providing key insights that guide investment decisions and project prioritization.
  • Voice-of-Customer (VOC) Leadership: Drive customer insights through VOC programs, collecting and analyzing feedback to understand customer personas, market segmentation, and prioritize solutions that meet their needs.
  • Collaborate for Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation by actively seeking diverse perspectives and working cross-functionally to generate creative solutions that differentiate our products and drive business growth.
  • Bird Business Systems Leadership: Lead and actively participate in the application of Bird Business Systems to ensure best practices in product development, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote Core Values: Embody and promote the core values of Trust, Innovation, Teamwork, Achievement, and Accountability in all your interactions and decisions.
  • Additional Duties: Take on additional tasks as needed to support the broader objectives of the product management team and contribute to company success.


  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
    • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other equivalent degree.
    • RF experience is an advantage.
    • Demonstrated skill or experience in Product management.
    • Demonstrated skill in capturing the Voice of the Customer to generate design requirements and product definition.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team to rapidly bring new products to market.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, social skills that cultivate high-value relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders.

    SCOPE AND IMPACT OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Operate computer and keyboard; able to use phone; sit for long periods; communicate using speech, hearing, and vision. Knowledge of MS Office suite.
