  • The Product Manager will play a key role in supporting the management and marketing activities for product categories and brands within Strategic Business Units (SBU) at Puratos USA. Help to develop an innovation pipeline for the category portfolio, build insights and analytics-driven product strategies and execute annual business development plans. Responsibilities will include commercializing new products, developing compelling marketing campaigns and driving business development through engagement with internal and external stakeholders. This role requires the ability to transform data and insights into actionable business initiatives, lead cross functional teams, excellent strategic thinking capabilities and the ability to manage and drive alignment with multiple stakeholders.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Business Development Activities
    • Drive business results and achieve financial targets.
    • Track and report category sales, mix, and margin performance to global and local stakeholders.
    • Develop and execute plans to close gaps, mitigate risks, and grow the business based on an understanding of business drivers and the sales pipeline.
    • Collaborate with Channel Leads to support Artisans, Distributors, and Retailers.
    • Ensure alignment of business development activities with category strategies.
    • Support business development objectives by engaging with stakeholders.
    • Lead cross-functional Business Development Teams (BDTs) and develop category ambassadors.


    Strategic Planning & Execution
    • Set annual operation plans and sales targets in collaboration with Sales Channel leads and the broader business development team.
    • Execute marketing strategies, including product design, pricing, promotions, and placement across channels.
    • Lead annual strategic planning, product portfolio management, and R&D collaboration.
    • Lead Portfolio Management Review (PMR) and Stage Gate meetings.
    • Evaluate and recommend custom product development requests.


    Marketing & Brand Positioning
    • Build brand and product positioning with the Marketing Communications team.
    • Increase market share through thought leadership, media campaigns, and content.
    • Refresh marketing materials and digital content regularly.
    • Create communication tools and content for category performance and engagement.
    • Oversee creative direction and execution of category projects.


    Innovation & Product Development
    • Identify innovation opportunities based on consumer and customer needs.
    • Evaluate and prioritize opportunities for strategic fit and profitability.
    • Collaborate on renovation, cost reduction, and SKU rationalization projects.
    • Guide global cross-functional teams from product conception through launch.
    • Develop and execute national product training plans.


    Financial Management
    • Set and track the annual budget for category initiatives.
    • Shift portfolio mix for Health, Wellbeing, and Sustainability commitments.


    Internal Collaboration & Leadership
    • Participate in project-based task forces and internal marketing activities.
    • Engage in the Puratos international marketing community to support global initiatives.
    • Be an active member of the Marketing Team and a leader within Puratos.


    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
    • 5+ years relevant experience in marketing for an established CPG company, or relevant industry
    • Exceptional leadership skills
    • Superior strategic thinking, planning and project management skills
    • Overall business knowledge and holistic general management approach
    • Outstanding analytical skills; comfortable using quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making
    • Balances creativity with planning and discipline in fast moving, ambiguous environments; able to drive projects autonomously with excellent follow-through
    • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills
    • Collaborative, hands-on team player - able to develop strategy and execute the details
    • Proven ability to build influence, advocates and navigate a complex matrix environment with cross-functional teams
    • Travel: up to 20% of the time depending on business needs
