Job Summary/ Scope:

The Product Manager is responsible for actively managing the end to end product strategy from product ideation ("sunrise") through go to market and, when necessary, product discontinuation ("sunset"). In this role, you will use all available information and data to identify opportunities, create product strategies and proactively manage and update the 3 year innovation roadmap. The Product Manager will be tasked with analyzing and interpreting market trends and portfolio performance to inform future product development and improve productivity and inventory turns. You will take a leadership role in the optimization of the portfolio mix to balance topline and bottom line goals for the brand. This role is cross functional in nature requiring collaboration with multiple departments including, but not limited to: Sales, Product Development, Planning and Finance.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Proactively create new product strategies, manage and update the 3 year innovation roadmap based on consumer insights, industry trends, proprietary innovative technology, and competitive sales data to drive revenue and profitability.
  • Understand product specifications and options to influence the product development decisions.
  • Manages product specifications in Salsify and ensures brand price positioning guidelines are followed.
  • Collaborate with product development & factories to ensure alignment and execution to innovation roadmap.
  • Support the HOB in overseeing the S&OP process, ensuring tight collaboration between Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to ensure healthy inventory and delivery scorecards.
  • Monthly review of all salsify data for updates.
  • Manages the product ideation, feasibility, and development stages of the innovation process with minimal support from HOB.
  • Manages consumer research projects with the Consumer Insights/Research team to identify and quantify white space opportunities and uncover unmet consumer needs to inform product development.
  • Leverages Circana, CMI, and other data to provide informed direction to product development for the creation of new products and product lines.
  • Manage new product timeline to ensure successful and timely launches.
  • Work with global affiliates to support global product strategy as needed.
  • Performs market analysis, competitive research, is aware of the latest market/industry trends, and conducts quarterly retail store visits across all channels of distribution to uncover and present business opportunities to the HOB and Product Org.
  • Proactively analyze monthly shipping reports and weekly POS data to understand the health of the business and provide actionable strategic recommendations to HOB.
  • Track year 1 POS performance for all new innovation, providing insights to key stakeholders. With limited involvement of HOB, builds an action plan to ensure the long term success of the product.
  • With limited support from the HOB, builds the recommendation for gross wholesale (inclusive of all delivery methods), retail and promotional pricing to deliver increased profitable sales that are competitively positioned with high perceived consumer value.
  • Be the lead communicator in new item releases and running changes via Salsify.
  • Be the lead in managing, acquiring and providing product samples for retailer meetings on programs that are in development.
  • Partner with Sales and Supply Chain for inventory and forecasting needs to meet brand and retailer revenue projections.
  • Monitor the portfolio's health to provide recommendations to HOB on which items to discontinue and ideate liquidation strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field is required.
  • 4-7 years' experience in product development/category management is ideal.
  • At least 1-3 years supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must possess strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity, credibility, sense of urgency and common sense.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver oral presentations.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite, Google Suite and the Internet.
  • Must possess strong time management skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to meet deadlines is essential.


Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily indoors, although some outdoor tasks are required. Lighting is artificial. Equipment used includes standard office equipment i.e. computer, telephone, copy machine. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, use of both hands. Hours and days are primarily Monday through Friday with some evenings and weekends. Position requires close contact with Meyer employees and vendors.

$90,000 to $120,000, DOE
