DESCRIPTION:
This position will be working within Bain Capital's Capital Markets Technology (CMG) team, which supports the Fixed Income (Credit), Special Situations, Public Equity, and Partnership Strategies lines of business. This role will specialize in working on systems and projects related to the private and liquid credit business.
Leveraging both your business and technical knowledge, this individual will work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, application developers and QA specialists to provide solutions supporting our front-office and back-office platforms.
This will include driving private and liquid credit team mandated projects as well as participating at various levels in other technology related initiatives, from strategic approach conception to new system development/integration to post implementation work. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a sense of ownership, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of investment management systems and processes, with a particular emphasis on Credit investments including concepts such as credit analytics, exposure reporting, trade flow processes and future cash projections.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure software solutions align with business goals.
- Be the Product Owner for a set of systems that support the private credit business area and vendor manager where the systems are 3rd party ones.
- Scope, Manage and prioritize team short- and long-term goals
- Engage in complex problem solving and options solutioning with both business users and development resources.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing systems and processes, and work with the IT team to implement solutions.
- Act as a subject matter expert for investment management systems and processes, providing guidance to the IT team and business stakeholders as needed.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and other IT team members to ensure software solutions meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure adherence to best practices for systems analysis and product management, including requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and project management.
- Work to gain an expert level understanding of Bain Capital systems, and assist with developing and deploying new integrations, while supporting and upgrading existing ones
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in business and systems analysis, preferably in a buy side asset management firm.
- A solid understanding of financial markets, private credit, and fixed income concepts is essential. This includes understanding of concepts / terminology, processes and systems. Specific knowledge of private debt and/or opportunistic debt is a significant advantage.
- Reference data, trading systems, accounting systems and analytical calculations capabilities would all interact to develop an end-to-end solution.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively, are vital
- Possessing strong analytical skills, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Having a naturally inclined ownership/accountability/ results-driven mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and drive project direction.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and in a product management function.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, and to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to prioritize shifting workloads in a rapidly changing industry and a dynamic organization.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Proficient with tools such as SQL for ad-hoc queries and data analysis. Exposure with BI solutions such as PowerBI to know how further information can be derived from core accounting data.
- Proficient in using business analysis tools and techniques, such as process modeling, data modeling, and requirements documentation. Some experience with SQL, Excel, Python or BI tools for this work also a plus.
- Experience in project management and managing software release cycles
- Experience with project reporting - status, milestones, deliverables
