Description:

The ideal candidate has had some experience in the underground mining industry in the capacity of production planning, maintenance planning or running mine dispatch systems. The purpose of this role is to define & refine the digital products that we offer or will be offering to our customers. The candidate will be working with others within product management to define this, and with key customers to determine where the value is, both currently and into the future.

Specific tasks for the Product Specialist Digital position include but may not be limited to:

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop machine telemetry offerings tailored to the requirements of mine planning operations and maintenance departments.
  • Engage with mine sites to understand their telemetry needs and identify opportunities for innovative digital solutions.
  • Develop comprehensive product definitions, descriptions, requirements and roadmaps specifically geared towards enhancing mine sites productivity, safety, and cost effectiveness.
  • Strategically plan and execute the vision and strategy for machine telemetry products in the context of mine planning, including identifying opportunities for revenue generation.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance data, customer feedback, and market trends to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and effective monetization of the product.


  • Other duties and responsibilities:

    • Provide product demonstrations to potential customers.
    • Stay current on industry developments, competitive offerings and issues affecting sales and customers.
    • Attending industry trade shows and conferences as required.
    • Develop content for sales proposals & develop sales training material for sales personnel.
    • Participate actively in complex, multi-year mining equipment sales.
    • Travel from time to time, both domestic and internationally, is a requirement of this position. Visit key customers with the sales team to provide in-depth product knowledge.
    • Take responsibility for personal development and enhancement of skills


    About You: The successful candidate(s) must be willing to learn, open-minded and flexible, organized, team oriented, disciplined, and must have a positive attitude. Ideally you will have had experience working within a similar metal fabrication, heavy equipment assembly environment, and you possess the majority or all of the following qualifications:

    Those qualified for this position should be capable of demonstrating the following qualifications:

    • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in mine planning operations, production scheduling, mine dispatch systems and/or maintenance scheduling. We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of underground mining equipment and telemetry requirements.
    • Prior experience with D365, OSIsoft PI and/or a mine dispatch system is an asset
    • Required prior exposure to underground mining equipment / environment
    • High level of computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office
    • High level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, need to be able to positively represent MacLean when talking to customers.
    • Excellent listening skills
    • Bilingualism is an asset (French and/or Spanish are desirable)
    • A valid drivers license and passport are required for this role
