Description:
The Production and Quality Manager leads the sourcing, production, and quality teams to optimize supply chain performance. This individual is responsible for standardizing and transforming global sourcing and production by establishing a clear vendor path for growth and innovation, driving cost savings, analyzing pricing and spend, reviewing contracts, and managing supplier relationships. This role also oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance, quality control, and vendor performance for the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Global Sourcing:
- Create and execute an effective global sourcing strategy and vision.
- Implement best practices for costing, lead times, vendor production capacity, vendor agreements, and supplier performance management.
- Engage suppliers to drive supplier innovation and design for manufacturability. Leverage supplier capabilities and knowledge to facilitate externally-sourced innovation.
- Identify emerging trends and requirements for all future product needs to assure a world-class supplier base.
- Prepare and present sourcing strategies to senior leaders to influence their understanding and support for current and future initiatives.
Purchasing:
- Optimize supplier adherence to X-Factory dates, on-time delivery, and product quality performance to enable inventory reductions throughout the supply chain.
- Hold suppliers accountable to the highest possible service levels with product quality and on-time delivery of the utmost importance.
- Develop negotiation strategies and negotiate with vendors on price, delivery, terms, etc.
- Ensure compliance with policies and programs in alignment with the global sourcing strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Logistics, Product, Finance, Distribution, and Sales) to improve process flows.
- Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for production activities.
Quality:
- Establish, implement, and sustain processes, documentation, and training for the Quality Management System.
- Report to top management on the performance of the quality management system and areas for improvement.
- Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies, procedures, and government requirements.
- Collaborate with other members of management to develop new products and designs for sustainable quality.
- Report significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and update on actions taken to improve the situation.
- Analyze statistical data, product specifications, material tolerances, and customer feedback to evaluate finished product quality standards; implement any identified improvements to the current state.
- Create and maintain dashboards visualizing quality metrics for corporate transparency and executive review.
- Develop, implement, and monitor a vendor social compliance program.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and facilitate process improvement projects, training/workshops using Lean methodology.
- Drive performance improvement through the use and interpretation of continuous improvement tools
- Initiate and facilitate Kaizen events to drive improvements.
- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues, create process documentation, and institute KPIs related to production and quality (assembly, material flow, production capacity, facility design, etc.).
- Partner with key stakeholders across departments to build a culture of continuous improvement.
Project Management:
- Manage project activities to enhance operational performance efficiency
- Create ROI and cost-benefit analysis for initiatives and expenditures.
- Effectively identify, prioritize, plan, and execute improvements in an efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 10+ years of apparel or hard parts contract manufacturing experience
- 5+ years managing teams
- Experience in vendor matrix creation and maintenance preferred.
- Strong understanding of QC/QA principles and application.
- Experience in negotiating (cost, lead times, terms, contracts, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft, PLM, and ERP software knowledge is required.
- Strong relationships management - global, domestic, internal, and external relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience implementing and sustaining Lean continuous improvement principles.
- Valid passport and visas required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to travel 2-3 weeks at a time, multiple times a year
- Able to lift 25-50 lbs
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
