Position Overview:
The Production Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of production activities to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery of high-volume, low-mix products. This role focuses on optimizing production schedules, managing inventory levels, and improving workflows to maximize throughput while maintaining quality standards and minimizing costs. Additionally, the Production Control Manager will work closely with the Supply Chain Team to maintain process controls and adhere to procedures in place associated with managing company inventory. This will be a 24/7 Operation, including a mixture of discrete and continuous chemical, mechanical, and thermal processes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed production plans and schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while optimizing plant capacity, efficiency, and inventory levels.
- Monitor and adjust production plans based on changes in demand, supply chain disruptions, bottlenecks, or equipment availability.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to coordinate timely material deliveries and reduce excess inventory.
- Analyze production workflows and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methods.
- Lead and mentor a team of production planners and schedulers.
- Create and maintain labor and machine time utilization.
- Measures and monitors all KPIs and OKRs for manufacturing groups, including but not limited to on-time delivery, schedule adherence, capacity utilization, inventory turns, work in progress, and days on hand.
- Forecast product needs by gathering, analyzing, and validating data.
- Collects, maintains, analyzes, and identifies trends in production order data.
- Expert in finite capacity planning, work center usage, routings setup, resource allocation, and asset utilization.
- Site subject matter expert on ERP systems and member of the SAP implementation team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in production control, manufacturing planning, or a similar role in a high[1]volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials management, and supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methods.
- Automotive industry experience is highly desirable.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
- Experience with Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing and Kanban systems
