Description:
Tesla's Gulf Coast Lithium Refinery is looking for a highly motivated detailed-oriented individual to be a Production Engineer lead for a novel battery chemical plant near Corpus Christi, TX. You, as a Production Engineer, will be initially focused on assisting with Commissioning and Startup of the facility in close collaboration with Process Design and Construction teams. The position will transition to a run-plant engineer working closely with production teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing. The Production Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting production issues, optimizing production processes, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities
- Assist with Commissioning and Startup delivering a safe, cost effective and schedule-optimized path to stable plant operations
- Ensure all Management of Change requirements are met throughout the commissioning and startup phase
- Participate in all pre-startup safety reviews and pre-startup Hazard Study activities
- Utilize Frist Principles Thinking in all responsibilities
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
- Provide technical support to production teams to resolve operational issues and improve workflow
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, defects, and any quality issues
- Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste
- Collaborate with the production planning team to ensure that schedules are met and production targets are achieved
Requirements
- Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve challenging technical problems
- 3+ years in a chemical manufacturing environment. Experience working on the development of chemical processing, solids handling or hydrometallurgical systems is a plus
- Ability to effectively work and communicate cross-functionally, including interfacing with project, engineering, and maintenance/reliability functions
- Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours.
- Aptitude to learn and incorporate new technologies
- Ability to identify issues and develop corrective measures to resolve
- Proven capacity to effectively work with cross-functional teams in achieving excellent results
