We are on growth journey - now looking for our next star - a passionate Production Engineer. This position reports to Operations Engineering Manager and will work in Vancouver, BC.

Dometic Marine's headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.
About the position
As Production Engineer, you will be working as part of a production team, directly with production workers/operators, Leaders and Supervisors, be the technical resource for resolving production issues causing production cells/lines to stop, slow down or not achieve their targets. Assist the production team with achieving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost goals, objectives and targets

Salary Range: $87,000 to $114,000 CAD

General Responsibilities
- Working as part of a production team, directly with production workers/operators, Leaders and Supervisors, be the technical resource for production issues causing production cells/lines to stop or slow down or not achieve their targets.
- Issues could be caused by parts not working properly, not fitting together, increase in failures during production testing.
- Do root cause analysis to determine if problem relates to purchased part or internal machined part quality, assembly process or equipment, or part/product design.
- Work with responsible group to resolve the problem, e.g., Supplier Quality Engineering, Machining Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Purchasing.
- Where appropriate and within the authority of the production engineer, resolve the problem themselves.
- Review daily performance data such as scrap and first pass yield to identify improvement areas, do analysis, create and implement solutions to improve.
- Review process and equipment effectiveness, determine ways to eliminate labour, research, recommend and implement changes.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Automation Engineering on ways to automate and eliminate labour.
- Support Standardized Work, 5S and Preventative Maintenance.

Skills & Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in operational/engineering/manufacturing environment. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:
- University or Institute qualifications in either Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
- Ideally, but not limited to, 3-5 years' experience in product design.
To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:
- Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling & PLM software (Creo & Winchill is preferred).
- Familiarity with electronic CAD (Altium Designer is preferred)
- Working Experience with Matlab / Simulink, Ansys, and FEMM is a plus.
- Displays aptitude for utilizing LT Spice in various applications
- Quick learner, systematic, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working experience with the agile development process is a strong asset.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to shifting priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Professional demeanor whether in person, via email or on the telephone.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team.
- Familiar with brushless DC motors and control, various sensors, and amplifiers.
- Familiarity with Lithium batteries, battery chargers, battery management devices, inverters, generators, battery switches, and solar panels.
- Familiarity with regenerative power circuit design.
- Familiar with electronic instrumentation/sensors & test equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
