Description:

Winpak Films is seeking a Production Manager to lead our BSB team at our Senoia, GA facility.
As a key leader, you will oversee the extrusion and converting areas in our production department, ensuring the highest safety standards and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and drive performance across multiple shifts, while contributing to the continued growth and success of Winpak. This is a leadership position, and you will be responsible for overseeing a team of roughly 60 team members, with 12 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Department Performance and Leadership

  • Oversee performance metrics for all shifts, ensuring success across safety, quality, productivity, waste, and staffing.
  • Set production standards and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Lead safety, environmental, and quality culture initiatives, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Develop and maintain department goals aligned with company objectives, ensuring consistent performance communication.


Team Development and Operational Efficiency

  • Guide shift supervisors in training, leadership, and performance management to ensure effective team operations.
  • Regularly review key metrics with teams and promote open communication about performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts in safety, quality, productivity, waste, and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize processes, improve product quality, and enhance operational reliability.


Production and Equipment Management

  • Ensure proper staffing levels for smooth plant operations, controlling headcount and overtime.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of production schedules while managing material resources.
  • Support technical and LEAN activities, as well as new product development and equipment improvements.
  • Manage rework, re-labeling, and customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation.


Required Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Education in Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a management role within a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience in a production environment that operated on a 24/7 schedule, managing teams where safety and quality are key priorities
  • Experience in managing operations costs and budgets
  • Experience communicating and partnering with senior leadership teams on strategy and operations
  • Experience supporting business unit goals through action plans


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the plastic, films, converting or packaging industry
  • Experience leading projects, with an understanding of capital expenditures
  • Experience building trusting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience coaching, guiding and mentoring teams while aligning with company mission, vision and values


Additional Details:

  • This position requires 50% time in a manufacturing environment
  • Shift Type: Full-time Monday - Friday with some weekends as needed.


Compensation range: $100,000-$120,000 per year
