This position is responsible for the direction and coordination of all production operations through subordinate supervisors, giving special attention to maintaining Adec's reputation for superior product quality. Subordinate functions include assembly, machining, testing, and packaging.

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift. Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and /or dust, and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops long range plans for staffing, facilities, equipment, production process improvement, information systems, and department procedures that contribute to corporate objectives related to quality, cost, inventory levels, and delivery.
- Directs the department's safety program, assuring communication of company safety policies. This may include recommending equipment and/or process improvements to eliminate potential injuries.
- Coordinates, supports, and provides quality management system training and day to day work direction for area employees to meet established safety, quantity, and quality standards.
- Creates and maintains a coordinated team effort to achieve objectives, emphasizing requirements for quality products with functional ability. Proactive planning is necessary to prevent predictable problems that plague manufacturing departments.
- Maintains operational awareness through the review of reports and schedules as well as through daily personal contact with supervisors and employees.
- Responsible for developing accurate operational budgets, which include capital equipment recommendations based on marketing forecasts. Incumbents must maintain operational flexibility to adjust to changes on demand, both projected and unpredicted.
- Works with supervisors to develop plans for continuous improvement, improving quality, costs, reducing lead-times, throughput and time-to-market (for new products), improving processes and on time delivery, and increasing flexibility in both operations and workforce.
- Ensures an effective and qualified workforce by developing and evaluating subordinates in compliance with A-dec's EEO and Affirmative Action guidelines, and supporting training and development initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Generally requires at least 5 years in an operational leadership position with increasing responsibility, including at least 3 years at a supervisor level.
- Ability to effectively manage, motivate, and direct supervisors and their teams.
- Possesses functional or working knowledge of assigned area along with good organizational skills and the ability to manage time and resources effectively. Must also be knowledgeable about safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
