Description

  • The Manager, Production Planning, will oversee and optimize the production planning process to ensure smooth, efficient, and timely operations.
  • Manage a team of Production Planners to schedule materials flow through manufacturing and meet short- and long-term goals driven by ERP/SAP systems.
  • Develop and manage production budgets, aiming to minimize costs while maintaining product quality.
  • Analyze production costs and variances, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Implement process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques and other methodologies to streamline production.
  • Establish production rates and inventory levels, ensuring on-time delivery of customer orders and optimal utilization of resources.
  • Control inventory levels to minimize shortages, excess, and obsolete inventory, while maximizing customer service and inventory accuracy.
  • Manage Production Planning and Inventory management reporting functions.
  • Assess and plan for production capacity across various production environments.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years (Manager) or 7-10 years (Senior Manager) of progressively responsible materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or a similar role within a manufacturing and machine shop environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in production planning software and ERP/SAP systems.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, MRP, JIT, and TQM processes and concepts.
  • APICS and/or Supply Chain certification is a plus.
