Working Conditions Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently near freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their workday.

Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements effective production, department planning, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinates with Facility Management to develop goals and objectives.
- Participates in developing and implementing department procedures.
- Ensures that they support Companywide strategic objectives.
- Exhibits expert knowledge for all positions on production floor.
- Ensure personnel decisions including hiring, corrective actions, terminations, wage decisions, and promotions follow company policies and procedures.
- Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiencies without compromising product safety and integrity.
- Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of Production functions.
- Identifies problems and resolves them quickly and effectively.
- Completes related reports and records as assigned.
- Ensures that production functions are completed in accordance with established production, safety, and quality standards.
- Tracks and monitors operational output (i.e. efficiency, yield loss, product quality, inventory accuracy, transactional accuracy).
- Anticipate and corrects trends which would compromise achievement of financial targets.
- Flex production plans on a shift by shift basis to prevent service issues and operational inefficiencies.
- Manage and review daily Key Performance Indicators according to standards and place corrective actions when needed.
- Effectively supervises assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
- Trains and advises employees on current daily needs and production methods. Leads personnel to improve performance and productivity.
- Continually reviews process and procedures to improve efficiencies and labor cost.
- Manage the personnel schedule and assess staffing needs. Provides leadership through goal setting, delegation, and communication. Assists with personnel decisions including performance appraisals, hiring, terminations, wage decisions and promotions.
- Exhibits Empire's culture of respect for all employees, motivate, correct, and challenge personnel with a positive approach.
- Develop an organizational learning environment that trains and develops personnel to key aspects of business.
- Maintains effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management.
- Communicate cross-functionally to solve operational issues.

- Maintains an open dialogue with assigned team and Facility Manager.
- Compliance
- Ensure team compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain product quality and sanitation standards.
- Ensures daily, weekly reporting is accurate and completed on time.
- Develop a zero accident and full Good Manufacturing Practice culture ensuring full compliance.
- May assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or 3 - 5 years of operational management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Safety, SQF, GMP, and HACCP training/certifications
- Previous experience understanding budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
- Ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends.
- Experience using continuous improvement tools to drive improvement.
- Experience enforcing safety rules and policies.
- Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;

- Base salary range of $84,117 - $113,558;
- Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company's annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
