The Role:

The Production Supervisor plans, directs, and supervises plant production, packaging and personnel to ensure customer requirements and plant schedules are met efficiently.

What You'll Do:
  • Plans, directs, and supervises packaging operations by maintaining standard operating procedures, making prescribed changes and adjustments when necessary, and maintaining daily productions rates, yield, quality, and line efficiencies.
  • Assists in maintaining the budget limits as established for the packaging operation.
  • Administers Company/Union contract policies. Disciplines directly where necessary to maintain control of operations.
  • Administers safety/health programs to meet current OSHA and ACH requirements.
  • Directs the labor force to maintain clean housekeeping areas in meeting GMP standards. This includes employee work practices and the proper cleaning of packaging equipment.
  • Obtains and maintains line efficiencies through the supervision and administration of PM Maintenance program with the Team Leaders, Team Members, and the Maintenance Department.
  • Trains building personnel in proper operation techniques.
  • This position is also responsible for food safety and quality. Supports and maintains compliance with the plant HACCP plan, GMP's, and all food safety, as well as security policies and procedures.
  • Plays an active role in the company's continuous improvement plan/programs to drive process efficiency, employee involvement, elimination of waste, and overall performance improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.


What You'll Need:
  • A bachelor's degree required, preferably in technical, business or engineering.
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience in food manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Proven experience with one or more continuous improvement techniques (Lean, 6-Sigma, TQM, Coach/Learner Kata, etc.).
  • Must be PC literate with working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good organization planning and delegation of skills is required.
  • Strong leadership, organization skills and planning abilities required.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to build teams.
  • Strong supervisory skills, a background in union environments, and proven customer service abilities are needed.
  • Must have the ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of times on a daily basis.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving abilities to accommodate a quick paced environment (a quick-thinker).

Salary Range:
  • $83,600 - $105,945 (compensation will vary based on candidates' qualifications, job related knowledge, experience and specific location.)
  • This is the starting base pay range. Exact compensation will vary based on the candidates' qualifications, job related knowledge and experience and specific location.
  • Variable Pay is included in compensation package yet not part of base salary range.
