Job Overview

Spirent is seeking a skilled Professional Services Engineer to collaborate with both the Spirent Professional Services and Sales teams, primarily supporting the post-sales implementation and deployment of Spirent solutions. This role focuses on our Wireless Network applications, with an emphasis on security automation testing to validate the security requirements of network functions. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzing security test requirements and test results from the manual test team.
  • Developing automation scripts based on these analyses to meet the pass/fail criteria outlined in the manual test results.
  • Automating functional tests, including UI/web pages related to network functions.
  • Adhering to software development processes, including configuration management, coding standards, code reviews, performance optimization, and best practices.
  • Executing automation test scripts, reviewing results, and presenting findings to both the project and customer teams.
  • Once automation scripts are approved, promoting them for scheduled regression validation and coordinating with the regression team to execute the automation scripts.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another Technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Experienced in test automation development with a strong understanding of software development best practices.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Python to develop, debug, and execute test scripts.
  • Good knowledge of Linux/Unix scripting for test automation; capable of developing and modifying scripts.
  • Good knowledge and experience in Robot Framework or similar test automation frameworks.
  • Proficient in Selenium or comparable frameworks for Web application automation.
  • Knowledge and experience of the QA/Testing process, which includes Test design, Test plan, Test case creation, and defect management processes.
  • Knowledge of Telecommunication concepts and Wireless Network technologies, particularly 5G.
  • Experience in Kubernetes environment with knowledge of containers, node, pod and security configurations and knowledge of applications security.
  • Preferred understanding of Networking fundamentals, Network architecture, and Network topology.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.


Annualized Salary Wage Range: $75,000-100,000

Spirent applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience at or in line with the minimum requirements.
