Essential Functions for the Position:
- Provide programmatic chemistry and data management support for site characterization, remediation, and compliance projects.
- Lead a team of chemists to develop a unified program to manage chemical data, including SOP development, database management, and mentoring to foster collaboration and cohesion.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of subject matter experts to execute environmental projects for a variety of federal and commercial clients.
- Mentor staff and oversee the development of Sampling and Analysis Plans and Quality Assurance Plans, including UFP-QAPPs, to guide sampling, analysis, and reporting of results for environmental media samples to meet project data quality objectives.
- Provide oversight of data deliverables from laboratories and coordinate the resolution of data quality issues.
- Manage analytical data using relational databases (Access, EQuIS, etc.).
- Oversee the development of data validation and data quality reports.
- Oversee the development of technical documents as needed, particularly in the assessment, description, and presentation of analytical data.
- Prepare electronic deliverables required by clients, including electronic data deliverables to US DoD databases (FUDSChem, ERPIMS, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
Job requirements of the position:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, environmental science, biological science, or related field and at least 10 years of experience performing chemistry-related tasks on environmental projects in both government and commercial environments required.
- Database management experience required.
- Experience managing technical resources preferred.
- Experience in a leadership capacity required.
- Experience collaborating with other subject matter experts in a project team setting.
