Strategic responsibilities:
- Oversee Dakkota/Emotiv's quotation process, tools and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop robust and dynamic next-generation Quote Model to align with Dakkota/Emotiv's core objectives
- Support current new business development, key accounts and contract management activities
- Ensure fllexibility for non-key accounts and diversifying into other industries
- Transition from midpoint-based linear model to mean total program cost model
- Implement regulations and version control to Quote Model and Program Financial Analysis (PFA) tools, ensuring only Program Cost & Innovation Lead can modify or update the tools
- Integration of existing tools
- Combine Quote Model with PFA for seamless workflow
- Streamline and automate quote modeling processes, resolving data handling complexities and establishing benchmarks
- Upgrade with end-user feedback/ needs in a controlled manner via documented changed control process
- Standardize quotations through updated individual function quote workbooks, enhancing engagement, accuracy and repeatability
- Lead efforts to define of new business margin strategies across Assembly & Sequence, Material Support Systems and Tier 1/ Make components
- Provide support for new product development initiatives, focusing on
- Conduct industry research and cultivate strategic partnerships
- Prototype builds
- Planning and coordinating efforts for showcasing innovative products at technical events
- Asses and address gaps in internal processes across both corporate operations and shop floor activities through lean initiatives and innovative technologies
Tactical responsibilities:
- Create training and self-learning modules for Quote Model and PFA
- Ensure consistency in quotation across various users, including New Business Development Leads, Key Accounts Business Development Leads, Account Managers, Cost Estimating Engineers
- Maintain New Business and Key Accounts quotation process standardized work instructions
- Integrate real-time cost data & Plant P&L to enhance customer quotation accuracy
- Develop and maintain internal cost data for use in quoting and performance analysis (overhead, labor, salary, etc.)
- Emphasize cost and financial analysis as a core component of the quotation process, leveraging detailed evaluations of customer cost models and competitive pricing to strengthen Emotiv's pricing strategy
- Streamline preparations of reports for executive reviews and monthly financials
- Improve tracking of pre-award scope changes and post-award cost/ price variances
- Collaborate with New Business, Key Accounts, Contract Management and Program Management teams, offering guidance on quotations and scope change considerations
- Provide support for New Business Development and Key Accounts during Directors and Executive Management reviews
- Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.
- Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
Limits of Authority
- Advise Department Manager of those situations that may pose a significant risk to the program, product assurance, facilities, employee safety or customer satisfaction results.
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process & systems.
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or system.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through the appropriate channels and verify implementation.
- Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency is corrected.
Basic Education, Experience and Skills Required
- Master's degree in an Engineering or business-related field (accounting, finance, etc.).
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a high throughput manufacturing/engineering related environment. Practical experience in a product-costing environment.
- Proficient in computer-based applications with emphasis on spreadsheet analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and "Think Customer" experience
- Able to maintain confidential information.
