Description

The Bridge Rockaway is a mixed-use residential building with 173 apartments that will provide supportive housing opportunities to 87 individuals who are either disabled or frail and elderly, as well as 86 units of affordable housing for families in the community through the NYC lottery system. The supportive housing program will include on-site services such as 24/7 front desk coverage, case management, vocational services, and community resources.

The Program Director oversees the development and execution of on-site programming. Responsible for supervision of staff and developing an environment that recognizes the effects of trauma on behavior. Able to motivate staff to use Crisis Intervention and verbal de-escalation skills to manage crises. Ensures that services are client-determined and driven while meeting funder requirements.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Directly supervise the Assistant Program Director and other program staff. Supervise delivery of services to clients, including admission to the program, ongoing operations, and discharge from the program.
  • Ensure that the program is prepared for successful audits and reviews. Complete monthly data collection to monitor services and trends in census, attendance, incidents, and funder outcomes.
  • Available on-call for 24-hour crisis intervention. Attends meetings as requested and is willing to work nights and or weekends as needed.
  • Manage personnel activities, including hiring, shift scheduling, developing policies and procedures, staff meetings, case conferences, staff training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and labor/management issues.
  • Perform all required administrative duties, data entry, monitor performance measures, petty cash, and monitoring staff attendance.
  • Ongoing assessment of building maintenance requirements, and services as liaison with maintenance staff regarding repair needs. Ensure overall management of the facility, including repairs and purchasing.
  • Services as liaison with the Property Management & Maintenance Department to ensure overall compliance.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision, and trainings as required.
  • Ability to work with consumers/residents/tenants, families, and staff in a caring and respectful manner, and with due understanding of and consideration for cultural differences.
  • Conduct apartment/building inspections on multiple floors, utilizing stairs. Provide escorts to clients throughout the community utilizing public transportation & attend meetings/training off-site.
  • Immediately reports serious incidents, serious incident allegations, incidents, or sensitive situations to supervisors.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.


Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • MSW or a Master's degree in a related field is required.
  • Experience working in mental health, crisis intervention, and managing trauma-triggered behavior.
  • Excellent time management skills; stress resistant, flexible; team player; open to feedback; creative; excellent organizational skills; willingness to perform CPR/First Aid/AED/Crisis Intervention/Naloxone.
  • Experience supervising clinical and operational staff; strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Preferred knowledge of AWARDS.
  • Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, variable schedule
