The Program Director leads and shapes the strategic vision of the Cardiovascular Perfusion Sciences Program while ensuring educational excellence and professional preparation of future cardiovascular perfusionists. This leadership role combines program administration, teaching responsibilities, oversight of clinical rotations, and relationship building with healthcare partners.

Educational Requirement: Advanced degree (MS or greater) in Perfusion Sciences
Strategic Leadership & Program Administration
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives for program growth and excellence
- Collaborate with the Dean of the College of Health Sciences on program direction and outcomes
- Ensure program compliance with accreditation standards and educational requirements
- Manage program resources, budget, and staffing needs
- Lead curriculum development and program assessment efforts
Academic & Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach core courses within the Cardiovascular Perfusion Program
- Mentor and advise students in their academic and professional development
- Oversee student recruitment, retention, and success initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate student learning outcomes
- Support faculty development and teaching excellence
- Oversee student progression through clinical rotations
External Relations & Partnership Development
- Build and maintain relationships with healthcare institutions in Nashville and nationally
- Evaluate and Develop clinical placement opportunities and partnerships
- Represent the program at professional conferences and industry events
- Engage with alumni and industry professionals
- Foster connections with potential employers and clinical sites
Program Quality & Innovation
- Lead continuous program improvement initiatives
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
- Implement innovative teaching and learning strategies
- Monitor program outcomes and graduate success rates
- Ensure program meets or exceeds professional standards
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Cardiovascular Perfusion or related field
- Current certification as a Cardiovascular Perfusionist
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in cardiovascular perfusion
- Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience
- Experience in instruction and program planning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Record of professional engagement and service
