Program Manager Job Description
Beast Code is seeking an experienced Program Manager (PM) with a technical background/skillset to lead and manage resources for our rapidly evolving DevOps programs (Platform Engineering, SaaS Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering). The PM will play a crucial role in carving out the structure to help build and evolve teams that will support the company as it continues to grow.
The PM serves as the central point of contact between the DevOps programs and both internal and external stakeholders. The DevOps PM ensures that project deliverables, requirements, schedules, and meeting plans are effectively communicated and coordinated across all parties involved. Additionally, PMs provide support during the proposal process, including conducting Red Team reviews.
The DevOps PM must have a working technical understanding of technologies related to our software production and deployment processes in order to conduct and facilitate technical discussion and planning related to our products with internal and external stakeholders with or without additional engineers.
The DevOps PM will report to the Director of Infrastructure & Operations. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to ensure successful project execution across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Program Manager I
Work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Typically requires 0 to 2 years of related experience.
Program Manager III
Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.
Program Manager III
Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Typically requires 4-7 years of related experience.
Program Manager IV
Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role of the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Typically requires 7+ years of related experience.

Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in this area of specialization. As a Program Manager for DevOps, a typical day may include the following:
- Dynamic project and resource prioritization
- Engage with all stakeholders to iterate on and clarify requirements.
- Coordinate with managers for project-specific resources
- Lead planning and execution of projects within scope and resource allowance
- Oversee execution timelines, manage tasks, milestones, and deadlines, and communicate any schedule changes to stakeholders.
- Track project completion status, identify at-risk tasks, and develop mitigation plans to address potential issues.
- Validate proposal requirements and contribute to Red Team review sessions.
- Identify resource constraints and coordinate with managers to initiate hiring activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, or certification in project management.
- Working knowledge of software deployment technologies such as Kubernetes and Helm as well as concepts such as containers and clusters. (i.e., you can discuss these technologies and their uses at a high level and utilize that knowledge in project planning and stakeholder interactions)
- Familiarity with project management tools, and Agile methodologies.
Bonus points for:
- Prior experience in a technical role such as Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, etc.
- Experience with one or more cloud systems (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
