Job Opening
The Lockwood Group is currently pursuing a contract supporting The Army Futures Command (AFC), Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center (DEVCOM AC) in Picatinny, NJ. We are looking for a Program Manager to play a key role in managing and overseeing various programs and projects within the DEVCOM AC. This Program Manager will be responsible for managing the effort covering the requirement for engineering design, development, production, and support services for Large Caliber Cannon Engineering, Weapons Research, System Testing/Diagnostics and Netcentric Support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Lead and manage multiple programs, ensuring alignment with AFC and DEVCOM AC objectives and timelines.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve program goals, including resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including military personnel, contractors, and government agencies, to ensure program success.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program continuity and success.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor performance metrics to track progress and ensure programs meet their objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor program team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior leadership on program status, including progress reports, risk assessments, and budgetary updates.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in program management, with at least 4 years in a defense or military environment.
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of armament systems and technologies.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Security Clearance: Must have an active Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Military Experience: Prior military service or experience working with military organizations.
  • Advanced Degrees: Advanced degree in Engineering, Defense Studies, or related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of armament development and systems engineering.
