Essential Duties
1. Oversees the advancement and growth of the program. Gives direction and leadership supporting the philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives. Assumes primary accountability for disseminating and publishing all program information to create public awareness and support of the program. 2. Plays a key role in strategic planning. Works closely with leadership, internal and external colleagues and community residents to develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization and implements long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program. 3. Develops an annual budget and operating plan to support the program. Ensures program operates within approved budget. Monitors and approves all budgeted program expenditures. Manages all program and project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures. 4. Builds and maintains a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement. Monitors the program activities on a regular basis and conducts an annual evaluation according to the program evaluation framework. Identifies and evaluates the risks associated with program activities and takes appropriate action to control the risks. Reports evaluation findings to appropriate stakeholders and recommends changes to enhance the program, as appropriate 5. Ensures that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization and activities comply with all relevant legislation/regulatory requirements. 6. Identifies, solicits, and cultivates community partnerships and collaborations to assist in the development and growth of the program. Develops the metrics to identify and measure the success of the program. Responsible for measurements of grant success and related evaluation. 7. Identifies and evaluates potential future funding sources, and contributes to the submission of grants and contracts supporting the program, including the annual submission and writing of all content areas and budgetary sections of grant applications. 8. Develops the administrative infrastructure of the program. Manages human resource and administrative functions of the program, including staffing and hiring, supervision, performance development, counseling and discipline, if warranted. Oversees and manages information systems, facilities, and space needs. 9. Investigates, identifies, implements, and oversees the maintenance of systems to gather, track, and report information to support the initiatives of the program. Tracks all program activities and regularly informs leadership of progress on each initiative. Recommends structural or programmatic adjustments, changes or additions based on full knowledge of missions, goals, and objectives. 10. Initiates, designs, and manages the compilation of program communications; identifying outreach potential, and promoting philanthropic and collaborative support of the program. Contributes to the development and assists in the management of content on the program's website and monitors all changes and additions to the editorial content. 11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Focus:
YSPH seeks a highly experienced Program Manager for its brand-new Public Health Data Science and Data Equity (DSDE) initiative which will create and support a range of cutting edge research, education, and outreach initiatives related to strengthening innovations in and applications of modern data science as it relates to public health. The program will bring together a large network of faculty, staff and trainees involved in the initiative.
Reporting to the inaugural Senior Associate Dean of Public Health DSDE, the qualified candidate will oversee the launch of a new overarching schoolwide initiative, and will plan, staff, and manage the development of education, outreach, and team science collaborative programs, while providing additional oversight for the core programmatic activities including new faculty hire and grant submission.
This position will plan the delivery of the Data Science and Data Equity Initiative and its activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the program. This involves strategizing with senior leadership and faculty to build the infrastructure, identify project goals, and creation of workshops, including organizing a monthly "learning community" for professional development, and engagement.

- Develop, build, and implement educational programs supporting the initiatives, including oversight of a newly NIH/NHLBI funded program on Big Data.
- Oversee the advancement and growth of the Initiative. Provides direction and leadership that supports the philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives.
- Develop and manage a library of team-wide resources, including educational materials and resources for science communication and other outreach, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts, and professional development.
- Manage and track collaborative project development, matching complementary skill sets and expertise across the team, and providing logistical support for committees, workshops, and meetings. Reassigning resources as needed to ensure cohesion.
- Evaluate programs for strengths and opportunities and identify, recommend and implement improvements.
- Strategize with stakeholders in finance, administration, and human resources departments, to identify potential future funding sources for grant management, hiring/onboarding of staff, and other administrative functions related to program needs. Manage international awards and solicit new funding and grants for upcoming projects.
- Develop and monitor program budgets and identify national and international awards related to DSDE work solicit, prepare and submit nominations of YSPH faculty for these awards working with the DSDE taskforce.
- Create, implement and lead the development of new certificate and degree programs for related to DSDE working with school and campus partners. Collaborate with academic affairs to co-create lesson plans.
- Work closely with the schoolwide DSDE task force to track progress towards goals, as well as training and education program success, and prepare annual reports and website updates documenting progress.
- Provide a channel for conflict resolution and any Code of Conduct related business.
- Ensures that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization and activities comply with all relevant legislation/regulatory requirements.
- Create and disseminate annual progress reports for the DSDE initiative.
- Create website content for DSDE initiative.
- Lead the design and implementation of school and community wide events, outreach programs and identification of community resources to advance the initiatives of DSDE.
- Develop communication and promotional materials for DSDE initiatives and develop a branding strategy.
