REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Credential:
Holds California Teaching Credential
Possesses CLAD/BCLAD/1969/AB395 or English Learner Authorization
Meets ESSA definition of Highly Qualified Education:
Bachelor's degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of successful teaching.
Experience providing professional development or coaching to educators.
Strong knowledge of effective instructional strategies, assessment practices, and data-driven decision-making.
Demonstrated satisfactory attendance and work record for the prior three years.
Personal Qualities:
Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
A community-oriented person is preferred.
Demonstrated skill in working with pupils, parents, and staff.
Demonstrated successful leadership skills.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent or designee, the Program Specialist will work alongside teachers to support classroom instruction, strengthen instructional practices, and help implement the district's curriculum and initiatives. This role focuses on collaborating with educators to provide professional learning opportunities, model effective teaching strategies, and serve as a resource for instructional growth. The Program Specialist will help facilitate training, mentor teachers, and support district-wide curriculum efforts. Additionally, they will assist in analyzing student learning data, offering support with various curricula, and ensuring teachers have the resources they need for effective instruction. The Program Specialist will also help coordinate curriculum ordering so teachers can access high-quality instructional materials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION
Professional Development and Training
Act as a lead trainer of trainers, building capacity within schools to sustain professional learning on curriculum, instruction, and district initiatives.
Design and facilitate professional development sessions for teachers, instructional aides, and staff in alignment with district priorities.
Stay current on best practices in teaching and learning to inform professional development efforts.
Support the development and delivery of ongoing training to enhance instructional effectiveness and student outcomes. Classroom Support and Coaching
Provide coaching and support to teachers on effective instructional strategies to support student learning.
Model high-impact teaching practices in classrooms
Support teachers in lesson planning and the integration of curriculum-aligned resources
Assist in the implementation of district-adopted curriculum and instructional frameworks Data Analysis, Curriculum Utilization, and Ordering
Serve as the local expert on all district-adopted curricula, ensuring teachers understand and effectively utilize all components.
Assist teachers in analyzing student performance data to drive instructional decisions and improve student achievement.
Support effective use of instructional resources and materials to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
Help teachers interpret assessment data and develop action plans for differentiated instruction.
Support the curriculum ordering process, ensuring timely procurement and distribution of instructional materials.
