At Beccarian Correctional Care, we are dedicated to reducing recidivism and enhancing rehabilitation through innovative, whole-person care models that address the complex needs of incarcerated individuals. Our programs utilize a community-as-method therapeutic model, fostering responsibility, accountability, and healthy relationships to prepare individuals for successful reintegration into society.

We offer structured Therapeutic Living Units (TLUs) and Transitional Service (TS) programs across Alberta, providing comprehensive support that includes vocational training, family reintegration assistance, and relapse prevention planning. By building recovery capital, we empower individuals to achieve lasting recovery and lead fulfilling lives.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Programs Director works collaboratively with the Director of Operations and multiple other arms of ROSC Solutions Group to support the rehabilitation and successful social reintegration of incarcerated individuals. Your core duties will be to provide leadership and oversight for all clinical operations within multiple correctional facilities, ensuring the highest level of care for members in our treatment programs. In this role you will work closely with program administrators, behavioral health navigators, and other healthcare professionals, & multiple levels of Corrections Services Division staff to maintain and improve program fidelity and expand evidence-based treatment approaches.

Key Accountabilities

Leadership:
  • Provide overall leadership and management for the clinical operations of our corrections-based treatment programs, ensuring adherence to program goals, policies, and regulations.
  • Manage four Therapeutic Living Units and five Transitional Services programs, providing guidance, support, and an ongoing schedule of structured education.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for staff, identifying areas for improvement and providing necessary feedback and coaching.
  • Advocate for the needs of members and coordinate with outside agencies and community resources to provide comprehensive and coordinated aftercare.
  • Assist in budget development and management, ensuring that clinical operations are in alignment with financial goals and objectives.

Program Management & Monitoring:
  • Oversee all facets of the treatment process from admission assessment, day-to-day programming, case management, and the development of treatment plans to ensure these processes align with best practices in corrections-based rehabilitation.
  • Stay up to date with research, trends, and best practices in the field of corrections-based treatment and incorporate this knowledge into program development and delivery.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Operations, assume responsibility for the collection and analysis of all clinical data and provide monthly reports on key performance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Corrections Services Division and other healthcare professionals to develop and provide ongoing educational offerings that will improve members' treatment and support programming.
  • Collaborate with Indigenous and other minority partners to ensure robust cultural representation in programming.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, and other activities, including research initiatives conducted by the Canadian Centre of Recovery Excellence and CSD's internal research division, aimed at improving the overall quality and effectiveness of our corrections-based treatment programs.


Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure all site activities and interactions comply with organizational policies, procedures, and COB requirements.
  • Ensure all clinical practices and documentation, including assessments, notes, and treatment plans, are accurate, complete, and maintained in a confidential manner, in compliance with regulatory requirements.


Qualifications
  • Master's degree in clinical psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Background in Canadian or US corrections-based treatment programs, including experience in a leadership role.
  • Current and unrestricted licensure as a Psychologist, Counselor, or Clinical Social Worker in Alberta.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based approaches to rehabilitation and successful social reintegration of incarcerated individuals.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor a large and dispersed team of clinical staff.
  • High degree of knowledge of the Therapeutic Community model and its modification to correctional settings.
  • High degree of knowledge in recovery-oriented approaches to the treatment of substance use and mental health disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential clinical documentation.
  • Proficiency in creating and manualizing best clinical practices.
  • Able to pass a criminal record check and Corrections Services Division internal security check.
  • Ability to work effectively in a correctional setting and adhere to security protocols and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Alberta.
