This position is based on Stanford's main campus with consideration given to the option for a hybrid work schedule (partially onsite and offsite), subject to operational need. Interested candidates must include a resume and cover letter to be considered for this position.

This is a one-year fixed term position with the possibility of renewal dependent on programmatic need and budgetary availability.

The Natural Capital Project (NatCap) operates as a partnership between Stanford University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the University of Minnesota, the Stockholm Resilience Centre, The Nature Conservancy, and the World Wildlife Fund. NatCap's mission is to pioneer science, technology, and partnerships that enable people and nature to thrive. We do this to help make the world a more livable place; to secure human well-being with thriving ecosystems; to harmonize conservation and human development goals, by developing scientific tools and technology to model and map the distribution of biodiversity and to demonstrate the services provided by ecosystems.

The Natural Capital Project is seeking a full-time Project Assistant to coordinate and support research implementation of a multi-country, multi-development bank project involving multiple NatCap experts and diverse government, consultant, and multi-lateral development bank teams in each country. This person will need strong interpersonal and writing skills and experience working with many research experts at Stanford and with development bank and government experts in multiple geographies.

Your Responsibilities will include:
    • Coordinating the logistics, timing, and deliverables of research implementation for internal teams across NatCap, with finance experts at Stanford, and with external partners in multi-lateral development banks (MDBs);
    • Coordinating and contributing to written communications about the research impact in multiple geographies around the world;
    • Supporting implementation of research objectives through contracting, scheduling events, and facilitation of capturing lessons learned across pilots; and
    • Supporting development of content for a MOOC across NatCap researchers.

To be successful in this position, you will need:

Education & Experience:
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience or two years relevant experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to use project management software tools.
  • Polished written and oral communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking ability to manage multiple parallel projects and competing priorities.


Certifications and Licenses:

None

In addition, our preferred qualifications include:
  • Knowledge of Stanford University systems and policies.
  • Familiarity with deliverable requirements, timelines, and relationships associated with the Inter-American Development Bank.
  • Experience planning and coordinating work among research experts to deliver research outcomes in multiple countries.
  • Experience writing summaries of research impact.

The expected pay range for this position is $39.46 to $48.41 per hour.
