Overview

The Project Controls Manager will assist the Project Manager with coordinating activities of projects to ensure that the objectives of each project are accomplished within set schedules and budgets. The Project Controls Manager acts as a liaison between the Project Manager, the client, and the project team, ensuring the clients needs are met while facilitating administrative and investigative tasks to support the Project Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Uses project scheduling and control tools to develop (with the PM) project plans, schedules, work assignments, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Tracks and monitors project plans, schedules, work assignments, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Produces weekly status reports and monthly reconciliations with the PM.
  • Helps PM develop and enforce internal project processes & procedures.
  • Helps PM develop and enforce project organization and communication protocols.
  • Maintains a direct daily reporting relationship with PD's PM and the PD team.
  • Effectively and accurately communicates relevant project information to the clients, if appropriate and the project team.
  • Attends, if appropriate, client meetings; takes and distributes notes and action items.
  • Tracks and follows up on action items for PM until completion.
  • Coordinates the distribution of project information among team members.
  • Communicates ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude and develops this attitude in others.
  • Keeps the PM and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations.
  • Manage one to two Project Controls Specialists


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, project management, real estate, or another related field.
  • 2+ years of contract administration experience.
  • Current hands-on reporting experience utilizing Excel, Access, or SharePoint.
  • Experience performing budgetary, administrative, and operational system support work; knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of public administration, management, organization, budgeting and financial administration and cost accounting.
  • Ability to calculate basic figures and amounts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Knowledge of financial budgeting, cost and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business texts, technical procedures, financial reports, government regulations and legal documents. Understanding of cost vs. budget analysis.
  • Ability to write reports, proposals, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Expert level capabilities with full Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of procurement process and document/data management.
  • Basic knowledge of project planning, and scheduling is preferred. Familiar with project management methodology, project procurement and its applications.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills for internal and external staff members.
