Under general direction, manage overall operations of career service programs in grant writing and management, budget development and monitoring, policies and procedures, and staff supervision in support of students from juvenile court schools, specialized high schools, and alternative education sites.

Required Education and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, business management, psychology, sociology, political science, economics, human resources, communications or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Experience: Three years of experience in personnel, employment placement, job development, training, including two years of management experience in transition or career placement, and two years of grant development, writing and monitoring.

Equivalency Provision: A master's degree with a major in education, public administration, business administration or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification, from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher education, may be substituted for one year of the required experience in personnel, employment placement, job development, and training, excluding the two years of management experience and two years of grant development, writing and monitoring experience.

Additional Requirements: A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.

Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
