The Project Cost Control Manager is the gatekeeper of forecasting and reporting all project related costs for labor and non-labor costs. This person is flexible to implement best practices and tools yet is unyielding in cost data quality assurance. Teaching other functions what the process are and how to follow them will lead to a successful team culture. Knowledge leader in cost reporting on projects and portfolios.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain project budgets.
- Work with project managers and stakeholders to establish cost baselines.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for all project phases.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to improve accuracy.
- Track project expenditures and compare them against the budget.
- Generate regular cost reports and forecasts to identify potential overruns.
- Identify and analyze variances between actual costs and budgeted costs.
- Investigate the causes of variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Evaluate the cost impact of project changes and variations.
- Ensure that all changes are documented and approved before implementation.
- Communicate cost-related information to project stakeholders.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Actively manage and develop 2-4 cost controls analysts.
- Coach project managers and planners on cost control processes and practices.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- 10-15 years of relevant experience, applicable certifications (MBA, CPA, ) preferred.
- Cost and accrual accounting using an enterprise platform (Viewpoint, etc.)
- Modifying/directing PowerBI, or relevant analytic tool.
- Cost and schedule reporting for EPC projects and portfolios
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Work is performed in an office environment and in the field. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Minimal travel is anticipated.
