We are currently seeking a Control System Engineer with Project Engineering experience for a position for a green hydrogen facility first of its kind. The position will be based in Hamilton, ON. You would be responsible for the delivery of services by a portion of the Fluor team and in representing the Client with oversight of activities completed by an EPC based in Hamilton, ON.

Project Engineers work on multidisciplinary teams to plan and perform work requiring sound technical judgment in the evaluation, organization, and execution of project management assignments worldwide. The role of Project Engineer - Process will be specifically focused on scope associated with the process plant and bringing demonstrated technical and execution experience to direct the work of others.

This role has the responsibility to perform the essential job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of managing and/or coordinating project activities that are in compliance with the contract and ensure the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Fluor profitability of the completed project. Performing assigned general duties of limited scope and level of responsibility, this position is designed to develop broader project management knowledge and experience.

Employment Status: Due to the project nature of the industry this position may be a contractor hire.

You would be responsible for activities including:
Performing basic project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of procedures, documentation of communications and meetings and identification/evaluation of project issues and problems
Able to provide sound technical judgement and decision-making for instrumentation and control systems based deliverables and design issues including vendor equipment documentation.
Coordinating efforts of technical disciplines, vendors, and licensors to ensure integrated and complete designs that meet project requirements and contractual obligations
Supporting enforcement and/or implementation of client standards and specifications
Overseeing the EPC deliverables and coordination of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
Support in defining scope and developing progress reports, establishing, tracking, and monitoring of key design delivery schedule and quantities
Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements

Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years.
Previous successful performance in a project engineering position on a minimum of two (2) medium or large-sized projects
Control Systems and Instrumentation experience with a minimum of five (5) years. Preferably attained P.Eng.
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Confidence to lead projects and apply knowledge based on an Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer background
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Demonstrated strategic thinking, accountability, and teamwork skills
Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and accountability for working towards client's target goals
Flexible and adaptable approach, willingness to take on new work challenges; adaptable to changing circumstances
Client focused with ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships while meeting the company's needs
Analytical approach to problem-solving and identifying potential solutions
Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
