We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer with a strong background in OSHPD and HCAI projects. The ideal candidate will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of healthcare construction projects, ensuring compliance with state regulations and industry standards. This role requires a deep understanding of OSHPD/HCAI guidelines, construction processes, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to achieve project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, scheduling, and management of OSHPD/HCAI-regulated healthcare construction projects.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure project compliance.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth workflow.
- Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to monitor progress, compliance, and quality control.
- Ensure adherence to OSHPD/HCAI standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Work closely with inspectors, hospital staff, and construction teams to resolve project-related challenges.
- Assist in budget tracking, cost analysis, and procurement of materials.
- Utilize construction management software to track project milestones and documentation.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates and addressing issues proactively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction engineering, with a focus on healthcare/OSHPD/HCAI projects.
- Strong understanding of OSHPD/HCAI regulations, hospital construction requirements, and seismic compliance.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore, and other project management software.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and regulatory documents.
- Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
- Knowledge of infection control, life safety, and interim life safety measures (ILSM) in healthcare settings.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in OSHPD IOR, HCAI training, or relevant healthcare construction certifications is a plus.
Work Environment:
- This role involves working in both an office and active healthcare construction site environment.
- Frequent collaboration with hospital administrators, inspectors, and regulatory officials.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required depending on project timelines.
