The Project Engineer provides technical leadership and support to program planning. Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned manufacturing, engineering, and development projects within the composite aerospace field. This role is also responsible for providing customer-facing technical support to programs in the early stages of bid, design and development; conceive and champion technical and equipment improvement initiatives to enhance productivity of existing Manufacturing Programs.

In this role, your key accountabilities will be to:

  • Coordinate and execute assigned engineering projects in the manufacturing field.
  • Provide engineering support for composite parts production to production floor and methods agents to advance project.
  • Facilitate the reviews of production processes, engineering specifications and related information to improve current knowledge of manufacturing methods.
  • Prepare and/or review design for manufacturing builds, tooling, work instructions, engineering changes.
  • Support preparation of quotes and project proposals by completing technical studies and preparing cost estimates.
  • Source materials, tooling, and subcontracted services to support development and proposal activities.
  • Perform overall control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, sales forecast) and report regularly on project status to program team.
  • Lead prototyping activities such as design process development, testing, and qualification
  • Monitor compliance to company procedures, policies, customer specifications, and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Propose and execute continuous improvement activities to support company process improvements.
  • Seek new research and development opportunities within customer base to generate new business.
  • Support company R&D activities to benefit assigned customers and projects.


You have:
  • Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution with preference Masters Degree in Composites Materials or experience in design and/or fabrication of composites structures
  • 5-7 years project engineering experience preferably in manufacturing in aerospace or defense industries
  • Experience in design and/or fabrication of composites structures is preferred.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Bilingual mandatory (French and English).
  • Demonstrated business acumen
  • Comfortable walking the factory floor and offices, dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and independence.
  • Project Management skills an asset (scheduling/planning, budget and resource management, work breakdown and estimation, progress reporting, lessons learned).
  • Proficient in M365 including MS Project.
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software.
