Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Support Supply Chain VA / VE projects to optimize product costs
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to perform hand calculations to support design decisions
  • Manage all project related details throughout all phases of the product development process
  • Work interdepartmentally to track the required cross-functional activities
  • Develop & maintain project schedules that reflect critical milestones, and drive projects to the commitment dates
  • Track and maintain project and product costs and ensure BOM and project budget targets are achieved
  • Work with purchasing, suppliers, and quality engineers to communicate requirements and ensure parts and products meet specifications and are approved
  • Carry out risk mitigation action plans when critical requirements (technical/functional, manufacturability, supply, cost, schedule, etc) are in jeopardy
  • Oversee pilot runs to ensure products are properly manufactured and in sufficient quantity to meet test needs
  • Oversee validation and approval processes to ensure key specification and performance requirements are met and regulatory listings are achieved
  • Report project status summaries as needed
  • Ensure products are properly released via ECR/ECO (engineering change request/orders) process


Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in engineering
  • Accreditation in Project management, DFSS and DFM
  • Experience in water treatment or fluid handling product launches


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
  • Experience having led at least one major development project from concept to launch
  • 4+ years of engineering experience developing new products involving mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical design and project management.
  • Experience with discipline specific design tools such as Solidworks
  • Proficiency with MS Project scheduling capabilities
  • Experience with hands-on prototype, build and test in a laboratory environment
  • Able to speak equally well to technical and non-technical audiences and present a professional image to customers and suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel (occasionally internationally), up to 10% of the time to commission or troubleshoot installed products at customer locations, support pilot runs, vendor part approvals, etc.
