This role involves working cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, and customer-facing teams to ensure equipment meets design specifications, budget, and schedule . We are seeking a Project Engineer to serve as a key technical resource supporting the planning, execution, and successful completion of packaging equipment projects. This role involves working cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, and customer-facing teams to ensure equipment meets design specifications, budget, and schedule . The ideal candidate will have strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, project management, and technical problem-solving .
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate high-complexity projects, ensuring design intent and system functionality .
- Assist with engineering drawings, part numbers, and purchasing-related tasks .
- Maintain and apply URS (User Requirement Specification) documentation to systems and processes.
- Work with vendors, proposal coordinators, and purchasing to obtain quotations.
- Oversee packaging equipment fabrication, assembly, and testing .
- Ensure all engineering and manufacturing standards are met.
- Provide customer support and technical consultation on plant layout and system functionality.
- Travel up to 10% for project and client site support .
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering, applications engineering, or related fields .
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PDM, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce .
- Strong understanding of packaging automation, mechanical systems, and OEM equipment .
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills .
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of engineering experience in project or applications engineering.
- Experience in packaging machinery or automation industry .
- Strong familiarity with project management processes (scope, schedule, budget) .
- Client-facing experience and ability to engage with customers on technical solutions .
