We are seeking an experienced individual for a Project Engineer position who will support the Hydrosat payload development team. This role is responsible for the technical oversight of a multi-disciplinary team developing Hydrosat optical payloads. This role will work closely with Technical Program Management to ensure efficient execution of the development effort. This role will be responsible for the technical aspects and timely delivery of Hydrosat optical payloads.

We are seeking an experienced individual for a Project Engineer position who will support the Hydrosat payload development team. What You'll Do
- Maintain program requirements and ensure the design teams are developing hardware consistent with the system architecture and mission intent
- Work closely with the engineering leads and Technical Program Manager to plan the technical development activity
- Coordinate technical reviews for the hardware development activity ranging from peer reviews up to formal design reviews
- Oversee the progress of the technical development and work with the technical program manager to ensure program schedule reflects progress
- Manage the development of lab level hardware for prototype and risk reduction activities
- Coordinate the development of bills of materials for final assembly level hardware and ensure appropriate configuration management is being utilized
- Work with the Technical Program Management to ensure procurement of all hardware is being pursued
- Support the development of an assembly, integration, and test campaign and manage its execution
- Establish and maintain relationships with strategic vendors
- Ensure design documentation is being captured per Hydrosat design process and configuration management practices are being adhered to
- Provide regular program status to the Hydrosat stakeholders
Requirements
- Advanced degree in engineering or physics
- 10+ years of experience in system or subsystem design and development
- Experience with satellite systems and subsystems
- Experience with engineering design software such as Solidworks, Zemax, Altium preferred
- Experience with Product Data Management software such as Solidworks PDM preferred
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems preferred
- Strong team player with demonstrated experience in technical leadership as a project engineer or equivalent role overseeing multi-disciplinary technical teams
- Experience with development and fielding of optical systems
