Job Summary:
We are seeking a Project Engineering Manager to join our team. Under direction of VP of Engineering, Project Engineer Manager is tasked with project oversight, aircraft testing and integration, customer communication, engineering and project plans, research, systems design, item design, development, documentation and manufacturing engineering assignments as well as certification support.
Job Responsibilities:
A. Project responsibility including leading a team of engineers and technicians
B. Project (STC/TSO) Development and Compliance:
Lead the design, engineering, and certification processes for Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and Technical Standard Orders (TSOs).
Coordinate with the certification manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and obtain approval for modifications.
Prepare and submit all required documentation for STC/TSO approval, including compliance reports, test data, and analysis.
C. Project Management:
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, testing, quality assurance) to ensure that project modifications meet customer specifications and regulatory standards.
Track and report project progress, identifying potential risks or issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
D. Design and Engineering Support:
Provide technical guidance for the design and development of modifications for aircraft systems, structures, avionics, and interior components.
Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and other design-related documentation.
Work closely with the design team to validate solutions for performance, safety, and compliance with aviation standards.
E. Testing and Validation:
Ensure that all project modifications undergo appropriate testing, including ground and flight tests, to verify their performance and safety.
Analyze test data and prepare reports to demonstrate compliance with certification requirements.
Liaise with quality assurance and testing teams to ensure that the STC/TSO meets all functional, operational, and regulatory standards.
F. Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact between the engineering team, clients, and regulatory bodies.
Communicate effectively with customers, ensuring that project goals and timelines are clearly understood and met.
Provide updates to senior management regarding project status, challenges, and resolutions.
G. Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve project processes, engineering practices, and compliance workflows.
Stay updated on new technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes to ensure that modifications and projects are aligned with industry's best practices.
Make changes in procedures, processes, methods, design or equipment where necessary.
H. Budget and Resource Management:
Track project budgets and costs to ensure that the project stays within financial constraints.
Procure materials, tools, and resources required for project execution.
Oversee the allocation of engineering teams and technical staff, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and within scope.
I. Risk Management and Problem Solving:
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays or cost overruns.
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues or delays that arise during the development process.
J. Perform additional duties as required.

Job Requirements:
- BSEE or equivalent from accredited college or university.
- Three plus years of project, electrical or software engineering.
- Understanding or direct experience with FAA Certification.
- Must be self-motivated, highly organized, have excellent communication skills, have the ability to troubleshoot analog and digital circuitry using lab test and measurement equipment and have aircraft integration experience.
