Seeking an engineering specialist to lead efforts and coordinate the implementation of special projects. Strongly-qualified candidates will be collaborators who can work with team members at all levels and has the product and process knowledge to work with customers on technical issues and prints.
What You'll Be Doing:
Coordinate the implementation of capital or general projects and to provide support to Corporate Engineering and Plants in managing special projects. This includes the coordination of the planning, design, development, and implementation of general and capital improvement projects. Works closely with and builds relationships with the leadership team, department leadership, project managers, and external partners.

Schedule: This exempt-level role will primarily workeight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs and will primarily be day-time hours but may occasionally work or travel nights or weekends as needed.

What You'll Be Doing:
Coordinate the implementation of capital or general projects and to provide support to Corporate Engineering and Plants in managing special projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Others as assigned.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to provide the information needed to make sound decisions, remove foundational barriers and implement consistency across the company.
- Act as an advisor and thought partner by resolving and researching issues. Frames and drives the resolution of complex issues.
- Collaborate with leadership and departments to coordinate service delivery and ongoing portfolio management.
- Lead the comprehensive change management efforts associated with these projects.
- Establish and maintain originality and inventiveness to project management capabilities.
- New Product Implementation scheduling and planning.
- Act as non-commercial customer interface, including:
- Product technical issues, such as tolerance and GD&T negotiation.
- Coordination of customer prints in launch process.
- Act as liaison between customer and internal resources.
- Ensure the New Product Launch process team is held accountable to on-time completion and budgetary constraints. Report status and obstacles to meeting goals to management for resolution.
- Coordinate team members to:
- Establish supply for purchased components and raw materials through Purchasing for all assigned projects.
- Establish outside services through Purchasing for all assigned projects
- Develop, define and implement product packaging for all assigned projects.
- Develop and release of job books throughout the product launch process, and oversee the conversion of the job book to a "released for production" format upon product launch completion.
- Develop and complete engineering matters for products in all assigned projects.
- Cost-reduction/avoidance programs across departmental lines.
- Oversee the collection of all required data for the reporting of New Product Launch metrics.
- Ensure that all reviews and critical communications between various resources in the New Product Launch process occur and are documented.
- Accurately estimate new business opportunities, including the tooling, fixture, gauging and part cost estimates, which will define budgetary constraints and critical process measures for the launch process.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree in technical field or equivalent education and experience of two years post-secondary education toward business or engineering degrees.
- Two to five years' manufacturing technical planning or related project coordination experience.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and has ability to so.
- Possesses strong knowledge of RFC products, materials, roll forming processes, etc. and has ability to provide creative solutions.
- Proficient with computer software including Microsoft Office products and manufacturing ERP software. Ability to learn new software as needed including Microsoft Project or similar, CAD 3-D modeling software or similar, and others.
- Ability to work onsite with a reasonable commute to Shelbyville, KY
- US Person as defined by ITAR/EAR
Preferred:
- Engineering degree
- Experience with automotive industry or similar manufacturing and quality environment
- Familiarity with or knowledge of metals and metal forming processes including heat treating, tube bending and/or roll forming.
