We are seeking an experienced Project Environmental Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in environmental science, ecology, or planning, with at least three years of experience in natural resource assessment and permitting. This role involves preparing natural resource planning, assessment, and permitting documents for land development and infrastructure projects, utilizing GIS skills and land use permitting expertise.
Responsibilities
This role offers a flexible work environment with the opportunity to work from home two days a week and in the office for three days. The office is located in Philadelphia, with a small environmental team working on projects separately from the Center City office. Employees enjoy benefits such as two weeks of PTO (with more PTO for more experienced individuals), free lunch every Wednesday, free breakfast every Thursday, and a $500 home office stipend. May require travel to job sites to oversee field work.

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Environmental Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in environmental science, ecology, or planning, with at least three years of experience in natural resource assessment and permitting. This role involves preparing natural resource planning, assessment, and permitting documents for land development and infrastructure projects, utilizing GIS skills and land use permitting expertise.
Responsibilities
- Prepare natural resource planning, assessment, and permitting documents for land development and infrastructure projects in close collaboration with project personnel.
- Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess the natural resource characteristics of project sites.
- Perform natural resource feasibility assessments for development projects.
- Write and/or review draft due diligence reports, assessments, and permit applications.
- Prepare site assessments and related natural resource figures using GIS and AutoCAD software.
- Assist with planning and execution of field investigations by performing field tests, collecting samples, recording data, and performing routine calculations.
- Collect soil, soil vapor, indoor and ambient air, sediment, surface water, and groundwater samples.
- Review and interpret environmental, geological, and historical records to support environmental due diligence.
- Prepare a variety of standard logs and field forms, such as drilling logs, field investigation dailies, and chain of custody logs.
- Identify and implement solutions to both routine and complex field problems, documenting them accurately and keeping project manager informed.
- Lead tasks associated with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, cost estimates, and designs for projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering.
- 3+ years of related work experience in natural resource assessment and permitting.
- Proficient in environmental due diligence.
- Experience managing remediation projects from start to finish.
- Hazwoper training.
- Understanding of NJ and PA regulatory requirements.
- Experience in site recovery, hazardous waste investigation, soil and groundwater investigations, remediation, industrial/brownfield site redevelopment.
- Master's Degree.
- PG, PE, LSRP, or LEED AP certification.
- Experience in hydrology, hydrogeology, remediation, environmental site assessment, soil sampling, and ArcGIS.
