Description
The Project Executive (PX) is responsible for ensuring overall direction, management, execution and financial success of construction projects and assigned market sectors. This position leads, mentors and supervises the field and office staff dedicated to PX projects. The Project Executive provides strategic input regarding the ongoing operations of the company.
Key Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner. The following duties are representative of the job but are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed.
Business Development
Oversees proposal and responses on targeted projects, including short-list interview presentations
Leads strategy and efforts to achieve market sector revenue goals
Develops and maintains the growth of long term client relationships
Works in conjunction with the business development team to follow up on leads
Project Management
Effectively manage the "entire" construction process on projects, single or multiple projects within PX market sector(s)
Ability to effectively manage projects of any size.
Responsible for success of pre-construction process in conjunction with the pre-construction team.
Lead teams in all project management aspects from budgeting through completion; complying and enforcing Pence processes and procedures, including schedule development and analysis
Responsible for review, negotiation and execution of owner agreements, project estimates, master agreements and SPO's including work scope, to minimizing project risk exposure pursuant to the DOA
Review high level deliverables across projects
Ensure timely and accurate owner billings, monitor receivables for all projects under SPM direction and resolve billing issues when they arise
Analyze and accurately forecast revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization for all projects under PX direction
Capable of resolving escalating issues arising from project operations.
Set, manage, and achieve upward revenue and profitability project goals
Client Management
Maintain positive, long-lasting relationships with Owners, Architects and Consultants
Understand the client and their goals and provide services tailored to achieve them
Manages day-to-day client interaction and expectations
Develop and grow a client base whose values align with Pence
Support and help develop projects team's client relationships
Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration or litigation as needed
Qualifications
The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive.
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering Management or similar degree
At least 15 years of project management experience in the construction industry as a general contractor
In lieu of degree commensurate experience in Construction field is acceptable
At least 5 years of experience managing others including hiring, disciplining, evaluating performance and terminating staff.
Computer literate with excellent MS Excel, MS Outlook skills
Strong understanding of P6 scheduling software
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Can work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Minimum of 5 years' experience with construction software platforms CMIC or similar
