Description:

The Commercial HVAC and Piping Project Executive is responsible for overseeing all aspects of commercial HVAC and piping projects, from pre-construction through project closeout. This senior leadership role involves strategic planning, client relationship management, team leadership, financial oversight, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight: Lead and manage multiple commercial HVAC and piping projects simultaneously, ensuring all phases are executed to company standards.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients; maintain strong relationships to encourage repeat business.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor project managers, engineers, and field personnel; foster a collaborative, accountable team environment.
  • Pre-construction Support: Participate in project planning, estimation, scheduling, and value engineering during pre-construction phases.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage project budgets; monitor job cost reports; ensure profitability through cost control and risk management.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, contract requirements, and internal quality standards.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Oversee subcontractor selection and performance; ensure scope alignment and timely execution of work.
  • Scheduling: Approve project schedules and ensure milestones are met in alignment with client expectations and company goals.
  • Reporting: Provide regular status updates to executive leadership and stakeholders regarding project progress, financial performance, and risk assessments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in HVAC and piping project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or executive role
  • Proven track record managing large-scale commercial mechanical projects ($5M+)
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC and piping systems, construction processes, contracts, and financials
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and MS Office Suite
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred

Preferred Traits:
  • PMP, LEED AP, or PE certification a plus
  • Familiarity with design-build delivery methods
  • Strong strategic and business acumen
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and adapt to dynamic project demands
