About the Position

Join our dynamic team as the new Project Financial Controls Coordinator. You'll be supporting Rail/Transportation project managers with financial planning, analysis, and reporting. You'll also drive forecast expenditures, track budgets, prepare project documentation, and ensure financial accuracy across all project phases. You'll play a key role in monitoring project performance, facilitating budget processes, and supporting monthly reporting and invoicing.

This is a long-term, full-time on-site, hybrid or remote position located in the greater Washington DC metro area.

Responsibilities
  • Work with PMs to prepare expenditure forecasts, including a statement of expenditure range that is based on known project risks. Forecasts will include tracking of purchase orders, purchase requisitions, and planned work.
  • Prepare required documentation for monthly project controls meetings for assigned projects.
  • Track project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and issues and facilitate communication of updates from project team to management and funding departments.
  • Facilitate project budget set-up and budget transfers.
  • Support accounting reclasses to ensure charges to assigned projects are correct and in alignment with the project plan.
  • Facilitate monthly project cost accruals and reconcile invoices.
  • Provide support for cost certifications by project and program managers.
  • Provide other miscellaneous financial program support, as required, for assigned portfolio.
  • Prepare invoices and supplementary reports for cost-reimbursable projects.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of project financial and portfolio management experience in large, complex heavy civil transportation, transit, or rail projects.
  • Strong experience developing reports utilizing data extracted from various financial and project systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite of applications (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI and dashboards.
  • PMP certification (through PMI).

Compensation Details

The salary range listed for this role is $83k-$124k/yr. ($40-$60/yr.) The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidate's level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
