Orla Mining is striving to be the emerging gold producer of choice with a geographically diversified asset base, a prospective development and exploration portfolio, an experienced management team with a successful track record, and a high-quality board and shareholder base.

Orla operates the Camino Rojo oxide gold mine, a gold and silver open-pit heap leach mine, located in Zacatecas, Mexico. This low-cost operation is 100% owned by Orla, covers over 139,000 hectares, and includes a large sulphide mineral endowment located beneath the oxide resources. We are also advancing permitting on our South Railroad project, a feasibility-stage, open-pit heap leach project located on the prolific Carlin Trend in Nevada.

This role will be responsible for all exploration-related reporting, presentations, press releases, internal documentation, regulatory compliance records, and other related documents. Additionally, keep up-to-date information related to new project generation. The role will also support special projects by providing technical assistance to site teams to enhance exploration efforts. This role will report directly to our Senior Vice President Explorations and will work closely with our site exploration teams.

Responsibilities include:
Manage and update exploration reports: produce and maintain up-to-date weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual exploration reports, ensuring all relevant data is accurate and timely.
Prepare Exploration News Releases: Collaborate with corporate and site Exploration teams to prepare exploration-related new release materials, including text, tables, figures, QA/QC data, review, and coordinate with the Investor Relations team before finalization.
Prepare Internal Presentations: Create exploration-related presentations for internal audiences, including materials for the Board of Directors.
Review Exploration Statistics: Analyze and present exploration statistics, tracking progress and performance against objectives to ensure alignment with company goals.
Annual Budget Preparation: Compile budgetary information into a global Exploration budget document / presentation.
Technical reporting: Maintain and update geology-related sections for NI 43-101 compliant technical reports for all company exploration projects.
Coordinate distribution and sharing of exploration data with other internal functions (e.g., investor relations, financial planning, virtual data room).
Provide Technical Support: Apply technical expertise to support specific tasks related to exploration activities, including data processing and interpretation for site programs.
Analyze Drill Results: Review and analyze drill results, providing recommendations for optimal follow-up programs. Ensure that all relevant data is utilized by the exploration team and applied to the definition and interpretation of targets.
Assist with Target Definition: Evaluate and support the quality and relevance of exploration target, including their ranking and prioritization.
Geochemical Data Support: Assist with the processing and interpretation of geochemical data to enhance exploration insights.
Apply Ore Deposit Knowledge: Leverage knowledge of ore deposits to recommend optimal exploration techniques, methods, approaches, and target definitions.
Evaluate and implement new technologies, as appropriate, to enhance exploration success, increase effectiveness, and accelerate discoveries.
Project Evaluation: Compile available information to support geological evaluation and assessment of new exploration and acquisition opportunities, providing technical input into corporate development decisions
Any special work support requiring review, assistance, support, compilation, etc.

Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering (Advanced degree a plus).
Minimum 5 years of experience working in similar roles in Exploration within the mining industry.
Demonstrated experience overseeing and managing Exploration teams.
Practical experience planning and managing large exploration programs with multiple drill rigs.
Proven exposure to exploration successes, discoveries, resources growth.
Experience with exploration targets generation, assessment, and target portfolio (pipeline) management.
Familiarity with exploration data management and analysis.
Strong exploration experience for different types of deposits; Epithermal, Orogenic, Carlin, Porphyry, etc.
Excellent understanding of geological modelling.
Good knowledge of QAQC principles including implementation and data assessment.
Proficiency using exploration and mining software.
Demonstrated experience working with mid-size and large mining and exploration companies with multiple sites located in different countries, especially in countries where Orla operates is a plus.
Good knowledge of exploration programs, data interpretation, targeting, QAQC, and GIS.
Exceptional communication, leadership, multi-tasking, and organization skills.
Professional member of the Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) is mandatory.
Advanced level of knowledge of most common geological, exploration, GIS software.
Must have strong English written and verbal communication skills. Spanish communication skills are an asset.
Good computer skills (MS Office).
