Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager & Business Systems Analyst with experience in the mortgage industry and expertise in Encompass loan origination software. This hybrid role is responsible for managing mortgage-related technology projects, analyzing business requirements, and optimizing Encompass workflows to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time and aligned with regulatory and industry best practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Management:
  • Lead and manage mortgage technology projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including loan officers, underwriters, compliance teams, and IT staff.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with mortgage regulations, investor guidelines, and corporate policies.

Business Systems Analysis:
  • Analyze current business processes and identify areas for improvement within Encompass and other mortgage systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, translating them into functional specifications.
  • Configure and optimize Encompass workflows, loan templates, reporting, and automation tools.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and validation of system enhancements and integrations.
  • Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring optimal system utilization.

  • 5+ years of experience in the mortgage industry, with a strong understanding of loan origination processes.
  • 3+ years of experience with Encompass (administration, configuration, automation, and reporting).
  • Proven experience in project management and business systems analysis, preferably in mortgage technology.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., TRID, HMDA, RESPA).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience with API integrations, Encompass SDK, and mortgage technology platforms is a plus.

Preferred Certifications:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional)
  • Encompass Admin Certification

Education &

Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in residential mortgage lending industry.
  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming, and communication abilities
  • Works well individually or in a group setting
  • Ability to manage time and priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Ability to analyze an issue and determine best approach for a solution.
  • General experience and understanding of the following products:
  • Encompass 360 - Banker's Edition
  • CRM (Total Expert)
  • Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac
  • Experience with prior business applications, workflows, user access management (new hires, terminations, role changes etc.) including security access in the mortgage industry
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Customer Service - the ability to provide and maintain effective and positive communication
  • Adaptability - an ability to quickly learn new or different techniques, products, and computer programs
  • Problem Solving - an ability to effectively analyze and resolve problems at a functional level

Skills:

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents and writes routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers/vendors or other employees.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation.

Computer Skills: Sound working knowledge of computer and office software operations and systems.
